Westminster Community Transport Service

Offering two types of service; both specifically for residents of Westminster, who find it difficult to use public transport unassisted.

  • One-to-one car transport for individuals

  • Minibus transport for groups

One-to-One Car Transport

The car transport service is provided by our team of volunteers and is for people who can't access public transport.  Those of you who wish to use the service must become a member. You can download a membership form here or if you are having trouble downloading the form please give us a call on 020 8964 1114and we will send one out to you by post or email.

Minibus Transport for Groups

If you run a group in Westminster and your members have difficulty using public transport and you would like them to be able to access Minibus Transport Services, you can register through your local Community Hub - see numbers listed below.

Make a Booking

Once you are a member you can book a journey for any time of any day, to attend activities and classes, visit friends and family, attend appointments or just generally go about your everyday business; remember that we need to find a volunteer to drive for you, so bookings will not be confirmed until we can.  To book you will need to call our offices on 020 8964 1114 between 1pm - 4pm weekdays and tell us where you would like to go.

You will be expected to pay 25% towards the cost of each trip which is currently charged at £1.10 per mile and the remaining (75%) of the cost is subsidised by Westminster Council.  The mileage is calculated by our drivers who will note the start and end mileage of every trip, which we then enter into our bookings system and an invoice will be generated and sent out to you.

Volunteers and Vehicles

The majority of our volunteers use their own cars, but we also have four designated smaller vehicles in our overall fleet.  Two of these vehicles are wheelchair accessible so that we can offer this service to users who cannot transfer from a wheelchair to a car seat.

What do our customers say?

  • This is the first time that young people have engaged in trampolineing in this way and they had a wonderful time. This trip would have not been possible if it wasn’t for the Innovation Fund as the young people travelled to the venue via Westway minibus services.

  • I just wanted to say thanks for organising the taxi last night and how great Adebe is. Your drivers are always lovely but he was especially helpful and it’s always so reassuring to know our members are being looked after.

    Brooke Kerr, AGE UK K&C
    Green CT Cars
  • A taxi from the station to the farm is over £10 and this alone is a price many parents cannot afford. Having access to the Innovation fund has meant that we can support with the cost of transport, meaning the parents can access this opportunity and keep their money for buying fruit when they are there.

  • The Innovation Fund has been of a great benefit to Lunch Club+ 4 The Bind. We have been on about 4 shopping trips - and counting this coming Saturday - 2 seaside trips

  • Transport is very well maintained. Drivers and Escorts are excellent and have a good supportive manner which is very important with older people.

  • From the minute I walked into Westway CT I knew it was the place for me. The people are lovely, I was supported all the way through my training (although it was relatively easy after the HGV training) and I was able to do volunteering work and gain some experience and confidence whilst hoping for paid employment.
