ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a new Deputy Chief Executive Officer

We are a Registered Society that provides social opportunities through the provision of safe, accessible and affordable transport. A user and member-based organisation of over 500 community groups and 4,000 individuals form the society. Operating in the London Boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster and Hammersmith & Fulham.  Delivering vital transportation services to group members and to over 4,000 individuals with mobility difficulties.

Set up in 1991, we work closely with local communities, residents and local voluntary organisations to make a difference. WCT works with its members to design, develop and run appropriate transport services that meet their individual needs and those of the community. A well-established Social Enterprise, turning over £2M+, we have a team of 63 staff and 30 volunteers, a purpose-built headquarters and a fleet of over 60 vehicles.

Following the promotion of the current Deputy Director of 14 years to CEO, WCT is now looking to recruit a new Deputy Chief Executive Officer to help lead and develop the organisation into the future. As part of the ongoing growth, the organisation is looking to increase its Social Enterprise credentials through income generation, expanding commercial opportunities by utilising its offer more effectively, and the new Deputy Chief Executive Officer will play a critical supporting role in driving this initiative.

 

The Role

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer will play a key role in supporting the CEO to ensure that WCT achieves its business and social objectives and creates an environment that promotes staff and volunteer commitment to our organisational vision, mission and strategy.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the post holder will be expected to work closely with the Management Team and take on overarching day-to-day responsibility for management, implementation and development of day to day Service Delivery and supporting functions to include HR, Policy & Procedures, Governance and Business Opportunities. An entrepreneurial, collaborative and inclusive working style and attitude will be essential.

A vital element of the role will be to deputise in the absence of CEO.

Interviews will be held in a central London location on 4th February and will consist of a panel interview, presentation and a written exercise.

For those selected for the second stage interviews; these will be held from noon on 5th February 2019 at WCT offices.

 

REQUIREMENTS

A high standard of education is expected. Professional qualifications in any of the following - Health and Safety Management, Human Resources, Passenger Transport CPC, Health/Social Care or Community Development, would be an advantage.

SALARY

£47,000 to £52,000
