Shopper Service

The Shopper Service is for elderly and disabled residents of Kensington & Chelsea

Eating well is essential for your health and well-being, and being able to shop for your own food means you get to choose exactly what you want to eat. The Shopper Service supports you to stay in control, remain independent and have choices.

Delivered in an accessible minibus that is very easy to board, with low steps and wheelchair access. There is a passenger assistant on hand to help you get on and off the bus, to stow and carry your bags, and if necessary help you in the supermarket. One of the team (either the passenger assistant or the driver) will also help take shopping bags to your front door when you return home.

Would you like to try the service?

If you want to use the Shopper Service but you’re not sure if it’s right for you, we are more than happy for people to try it out. Please contact one of the Transport Team by calling 020 8960 9020 or you can email us.

How does the Shopper Service work

You will share the journey on our minibus with other members of Westway CT. Everyone is collected from home, taken to a supermarket where you are given time to shop. We then bring you all back home again. There is a timetable (see below).

We pick you up from the same areas, so you may even get to know people living close to you. It’s not unusual for friendships to form.

We are told that the service alleviates stress and makes a positive difference in people’s lives.
