We offer a comprehensive, tailored yet flexible PCV D1 Driver Training Programme designed around you and your needs
PCV D1 training is for anyone who wants to raise their driving standard to a higher professional level or who would like to take up a driving profession in the passenger transport industry.
In order to train for a PCV D1 licence you must have a car driving licence and be over 17 years of age. You will also be expected to take a medical examination and pass a PCV Theory Test and Driver CPC modules before taking your PCV Driving Test.
Are there any exceptions?
Yes there are exceptions, drivers who passed their car licence test in the UK before 1st January 1997 will benefit from acquired rights (also referred to as grandfather rights). This means that this group of drivers automatically have a D1 entitlement on their driving licence, however, there is a restriction code 101 attached to this entitlement which does not permit you to drive a minibus for hire and reward. In short, if you passed your test before 1997 you can drive a minibus with up to 17 seats for private use only, or as a volunteer, however, if you would like to drive a minibus for hire and reward (professionally), then you must have a PCV D1 driving licence.
Our Training Centre, based in West London, is fully equipped for all your training needs. We can also travel to your premises for your convenience; in such cases, we will bring the necessary equipment required for training. Prices for this may vary depending on distance, travel and number of delegates.
