 Volunteer Cars Service

One-to-one transport for older or disabled residents of Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster

Our Volunteer Car service helps you stay independent.

As a member you can book a journey to attend activities and appointments, visit friends and family, or generally go about your everyday business.

Volunteer Cars are not regular taxi services – the journeys are booked by members and driven by trained and vetted volunteers who use their cars or one of our designated accessible vehicles. Journeys cannot be guaranteed until a volunteer is paired with your booking and willing to drive.

To use the service you must be a member. Volunteer Car charges vary slightly depending on which borough you are resident in.

Operating Times

Our volunteer cars service operates only during the work week Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm.

Times outside these hours can be requested, but we can’t guarentee we can fulfil these requests as we rely on volunteers to deliver this service.

Having access to a car and a driver has meant I can keep my life. I can’t walk too well and I am not able to get the bus. The car service gives me confidence – I’m able to get to my GP appointments or see friends under my own steam. I feel independent and that is priceless.
