As the weather brightens we’re sharing some photos of a recent passenger trip to a lovely pub. Our Shopper Bus passengers travelled to the Toby Carvery in Denham recently for a great meal with good company. This is just one of the many trips we organise weekly to nice places for our members.
Throughout the year we plan trips for our passengers that go beyond our weekly borough shopping trips to various supermarkets. The trips to country pubs, garden centres and places of historical interest have been on our list to visit since 2020, when we introduced the trips as a way to help people feel more confident about connecting again after the lockdown. They’ve proved extremely popular, offering a chance for those who want to explore and go beyond the borough, but can’t due to age or mobility issues. We hear comments like this a lot:
“There’s nothing nicer than going out with your friends, rather than sitting at home lonely”
That’s because when you’re part of Westway CT you’re part of a community. Our passengers come from all walks of life from all over the borough, North and South, the minibus is a friendly space where chatter reigns and friendships are made – it’s not just about getting to the shops – although our Shopper Bus service is a life saver for those that want to stay independent but need help getting out.
Our community transport is all about community connections, making them, fostering them and championing them. As we age staying independent shouldn’t be a choice we have to make, community transport is transformative in its power to help people get from A to B and it’s the answer to feeling more content and happier in life, on their terms.
If we can help you please get in touch, our services are for those aged over 50 in Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster with age or mobility related issues. Joining is £12 a year and our shopper trips, which you can book throughout the week are free, we’ll even help with the bags. Call us on: 0208 964 4928 or follow the link here
