Westway Community Transport (WCT) launches its Annual Review for 2025, setting out the difference we have been making in our communities over the last financial year.
The review covers our individual transport services – including, our shopper services, day trip excursions, and volunteer car scheme – as well as our group transport scheme for local groups and charities. It details both our passenger trip numbers and information on the difference our services have made in people’s lives.
Over the last year we’ve provided 70,000 passenger trips for those who find public transport difficult to use or for community group members. A survey, published in the report, shows the impact of these trips, with 88% of our service users who had felt lonely stating that using our services helped to prevent that.
WCT CEO Kathleen Lyons said;
We have a clear charitable mission in our communities; We exist to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
This Annual Review both communicates and celebrates what we have achieved in delivering on that mission over the year. I’d like to thank all of the staff, volunteers and management committee members who have worked tirelessly to make our impact possible.”
The report, entitled ‘The power of community: Westway CT annual review 2025’ was launched at our AGM on 23 September 2025, where our membership of local community organisations comes together as a part of our governance to hear reports of our work in the past year.
