In response to the Afghan refugees crisis. Westway CT joined other organisations, the council and local volunteers to help provide the 800 Afghan refugees allocated to RBKC. Our longstanding volunteer, John Walker, used our goods van to help transport essential goods for the Refugees. While Ali, our Transport Coordinator, volunteered on his day off and on his birthday to drive a minibus and transport refugees back and forth from hotels to donation points.
Both John and Ali recount the day of volunteering, the amazing community unity. They also talked about amazing locals who volunteered on the day and ensured the operations’ success.
