Volunteer Power Makes a Crucial Difference

December 8, 2021

Volunteer power is transformational. At Westway CT we have amazing volunteers. They help us fight loneliness and isolation on a daily basis. In response to the Afghan Crisis, many people donated their time to help others. The local volunteer power was amazing to see.

Here, Westway CT volunteers John and Ali, who took part in the community response to supporting Afghan refugees in the borough share their experiences. Without local volunteers, helping the 800 Afghan refugees would have been impossible.

This interview is the basis of our article on community unity and our role in helping the refugees. You can also see the first part of the interview with John and Ali here.
